The conversion formula
Percentage = CGPA ÷ 4 × 100 (that is, CGPA × 25)
The scale is always 4.00 — the standard scale at universities in Bangladesh.
Example
Example: with a CGPA of 3.50, percentage = 3.50 ÷ 4 × 100 = 87.5% — First Class by the common convention.
One more: a CGPA of 2.99 gives 2.99 × 25 = 74.75% — Second Class. Just below the 3.00 line, the class changes.

Honest note: these limits are only a common convention. Universities and employers differ — the linear rule (×25) is not a universal official formula. For anything official, always check the circular or your university’s rules.
More: when to use this, and when not to
Use it for a quick percentage on a CV or a study-abroad form where no conversion table is given.
Don’t use it where the circular states its own conversion table or class limits — that table wins. National University’s degree-class limits (3.00 / 2.25 / 2.00) do not match this page’s conventional limits exactly.
Don’t mix the scales: SSC/HSC GPA is out of 5.00, where the multiplier would be 20, not 25. This calculator is only for CGPA on the 4.00 scale.
Frequently asked questions
How do I convert CGPA to a percentage?
Divide the CGPA by 4 and multiply by 100 (that is, CGPA × 25). For example, 3.50 ÷ 4 × 100 = 87.5%.
What percentage is a 3.50 CGPA?
3.50 × 25 = 87.5%. By the common convention that is First Class.
Is there an official conversion formula?
No, Bangladesh has no single official CGPA-to-percentage formula. The linear rule (×25) is only a common convention. For anything official, the rules of your university or the job circular win.
What CGPA counts as First Class?
By the common convention used here, 3.00 and above is First Class, 2.00–2.99 Second Class, and 1.00–1.99 Third Class. Limits vary by circular — for example, National University's degree classes start Second Class at 2.25.
Does this work for the 5.00-scale GPA too?
No. This page is only for university CGPA on the 4.00 scale. The SSC/HSC GPA is out of 5.00, so ×25 does not apply there.
A job form asks for a percentage — what should I do?
First check whether the circular gives its own conversion table or class limits. If not, use this common convention, and get a percentage certificate from your registrar's office if needed.
