Frequently asked questions

Will these match my contractor's estimate?

They are estimates from standard formulas, useful for budgeting and buying. Real quantities depend on the design, soil and finish, so check with an engineer or contractor.

Where do material prices come from?

Brick, cement, rod, tile and paint prices vary by area and brand, so enter your local price and the calculator shows the total cost alongside the quantity.

Why add wastage?

Bricks break, tiles get cut and mortar spills. Buying 5–10% extra is common so you don't run short halfway through the job.
