Enter the marks or grade for each subject to get your GPA, both with and without the 4th subject. For example, 40.5 points across 9 compulsory subjects plus an A in the 4th subject gives a GPA of 4.72.

Your GPA is 4.72 (grade A) with the 4th subject, and 4.50 without it.
How this was calculated
Grade point of each subject: A+ (5), A (4), A+ (5), A (4), A+ (5), A+ (5), A (4), A- (3.5), A+ (5)
Total points of 9 compulsory subjects = 40.5
4th subject has 4 points; after deducting 2, 2 is added
One chart for all boards: every general board, the Madrasah board (Dakhil/Alim) and the Technical board’s SSC/HSC vocational use the same 5.00 scale.
Pass mark 33: each compulsory subject needs at least 33 (D).
Maximum GPA is still 5.00: a 2019 proposal to move to a 4-point scale has not been implemented; 2026 results are published on the 5.00 scale.
The board result is final: two-paper subjects, practicals and separate pass marks for parts of a paper can change the official result, so treat this as an estimate.
More: GPA vs CGPA, and GPA in admissions
GPA vs CGPA: SSC/HSC GPA uses a 5.00 scale where every subject weighs the same. University CGPA uses a 4.00 scale weighted by course credits; use our CGPA calculator for that.
GPA in admissions: many universities and medical admissions score your SSC and HSC GPA. Some use the GPA with the 4th subject, some without, which is why this calculator shows both. Check the admission notice.
Common mistakes:
Dividing by the 4th subject too: divide only by the number of compulsory subjects.
Adding the full 4th-subject points: only points above 2 are added.
Counting two papers as two subjects: boards combine them into one.
Frequently asked questions
How is SSC GPA calculated?
Add the grade points of all compulsory subjects and divide by the number of compulsory subjects. Points from the 4th subject above 2 are added to the total, but the divisor stays the number of compulsory subjects. A result above 5.00 is capped at 5.00.
How many points are deducted from the 4th subject?
Two. An A+ (5) adds 3, an A (4) adds 2, an A- (3.5) adds 1.5. A grade point of 2 or less adds nothing, and never reduces your GPA.
What if I fail the 4th subject?
An F in the 4th subject does not fail the result; it simply adds no points.
What is the GPA with an F in one subject?
An F (below 33) in any compulsory subject makes the whole result a fail, so no GPA is given (0.00).
Which marks give which grade?
80–100 is A+ (5), 70–79 A (4), 60–69 A- (3.5), 50–59 B (3), 40–49 C (2), 33–39 D (1) and 0–32 F (0).
Do Dakhil and Alim use the same rules?
Yes. The Madrasah board uses the same grading chart and 4th-subject rule, so SSC/Dakhil and HSC/Alim are calculated the same way.
How do I enter two-paper subjects?
Boards combine both papers (e.g. Bangla 1st and 2nd) into one grade. Enter the average of the two papers, or switch to grade input and use the grade from your mark sheet.
