The formula
Bike (2 years) = base fee + inspection + plate + DRC + 2-year tax token
Bike (10 years) = base fee + inspection + plate + DRC + (2-year token × 5)
Car (estimate) = slab AIT × multiplier + fitness fee
The base fee depends on the engine: Tk 2,000 up to 100cc, Tk 3,000 above. Inspection Tk 450, digital plate Tk 2,260 and DRC Tk 555 are paid once under either validity. The tax token is Tk 2,300 for 2 years; on 10-year one-time papers the token is 5×, i.e. Tk 11,500.
Worked examples
150cc bike, 2-year papers: 3,000 + 450 + 2,260 + 555 + 2,300 = Tk 8,565. The same bike on 10-year papers pays a token of 2,300 × 5 = 11,500, for Tk 17,765 in total — the same token as five 2-year renewals, but the one-time heads only once.
1,500cc private car, first year: slab AIT 25,000 + fitness 1,525 = Tk 26,525 (estimate). Without PSR the AIT becomes 37,500, and on a second car 56,250.
What to know in Bangladesh
- The Tk 2,000/3,000 base fee is unverified: the last verifiable all-in figure was Tk 10,152 to September 2022 (including VAT and supplementary duty). No SRO number exists for the claimed February 2026 cut — and this page’s heads exclude VAT/SD.
- Why 10 years helps: no renewal queues every 2 years, and less risk of agents or overdue fines. After the full 10 years the token can reportedly be re-issued for just Tk 23 (approximate).
- Why the car figure is an estimate: CC-wise “registration + token” lists circulating online visibly copy the AIT slabs. Check the real registration fee with your vehicle number in BSP’s fee calculator and keep the bKash/Nagad receipt.
- The two ×1.5 conditions (NBR circular, 8 July 2024): ×1.5 on every car without PSR, and another ×1.5 on each second or later car of the same owner. No change confirmed for FY 2026-27.
- Second-hand: ownership transfer is now online. Until the name changes, tax keeps accruing to the previous owner.

More: 2 years or 10 years, and AIT vs registration fee
Which validity pays? In taka, 10 years is simply 5× the token plus the one-time heads once — the same as renewing five times if renewal fees do not move. The real saving is time and hassle: no queues, no agents, no risk of an expired token fine. If you plan to sell the bike within 2–3 years, 2-year papers are enough.
AIT is not the registration fee: AIT (advance income tax) goes to the income-tax account and is adjustable in your return. Registration, plate, DRC and fitness go to BRTA’s fee account and never come back. Many blogs call AIT the “yearly registration fee” — wrong. Most of what a car owner pays every year is AIT.
Old vs new fees: the September-2022 Tk 10,152 breakdown carried VAT (Tk 518 on inspection and related heads) plus supplementary duty (Tk 929 + Tk 140 VAT). This calculator’s plain heads do not split those out — match the final figure against your BSP receipt.
